About the position

The Videographer at the Walters Art Museum is responsible for creating high-quality video and digital content that connects with diverse audiences. Reporting to the Manager of Digital Production, this role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to transform concepts into compelling visual narratives, utilizing storyboards, scripts, and video production techniques. The Videographer will manage all aspects of video production, from shooting and editing to maintaining equipment and ensuring content quality.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Manager of Digital Production to create institutional video, audio, and digital content.
• Transform traditional content into engaging video for virtual audiences and outlets.
• Use storyboards and scripts to communicate ideas effectively before projects begin.
• Shoot necessary raw video and source supplemental digital content.
• Edit video, graphics, and photo content, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
• Steward projects from inception to completion, ensuring best practices in video accessibility.
• Maintain equipment and keep an inventory of digital assets.
• Ensure the quality of all video content leaving the department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in film/video production.
• Familiarity with video cameras and capture techniques.
• Proficiency in video-related software including Final Cut Pro, Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of studio lighting, color management, and composition.
• Effective communication and organization skills, including research, writing, and editing.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly within a team.
