About the position

The VIE/PANGEO Project Engineer role at Veolia North America focuses on engineering design and project management within the water industry. The position involves preparing engineering studies, developing project concepts, and providing technical assistance to operational teams. The engineer will coordinate with external contractors and oversee construction and performance tests, contributing to the transformation of water management systems in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering studies, evaluations, and technical memos for wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, and collection systems.
• Develop project concepts, alternatives, scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Track planning, quality, and costs of projects.
• Manage GIS system projects related to above and below ground assets.
• Provide technical assistance to Collections teams, including troubleshooting and identifying solutions for improvements.
• Coordinate scheduling and manage the interface of construction with operations.
• Coordinate projects with external contractors, including vendors and engineering consultants.
• Provide inspections and oversee construction and performance tests.
• Prepare ad-hoc analysis and presentations as needed.

Requirements

• Civil engineering diploma or equivalent Master's Degree.
• At least one year of experience in engineering design, project delivery, and control.
• Professional experience in a water/wastewater engineering or construction firm is a plus.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Strong technical communication and report-writing skills in English are required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Hydraulic modeling Software (SWMM, HecRAS, etc.).
• PowerPoint and Excel skills.
• Experience in a public-private partnership for wastewater services.
