About the position

Vulcraft of Indiana, a division of Nucor Corporation, is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team in Fairborn, Ohio. This position is integral to our Sales Team, where the selected candidate will play a crucial role in fostering relationships with customers and contributing to business development efforts. As a Sales Engineer, you will be expected to embody a positive team spirit and actively participate in our company culture, which emphasizes customer care and collaboration. Your primary responsibility will be to build strong, durable, and loyal relationships with customers, including steel fabricators, engineers, and architects. This role requires you to maintain the highest standards of service through professional and responsive communication, both written and verbal, with our internal and external customers. In addition to relationship building, you will be responsible for reviewing and consulting with customers on value engineering opportunities. This involves designing Vulcraft products that not only reduce costs but also create value and differentiate our offerings during the bidding process. You will estimate products based on contract documents and provide accurate quotes for projects. Furthermore, you will present sustainability and technical product information to engineers, architects, and steel fabricators, ensuring they are well-informed about our products and their benefits. Responsibilities

• Build strong, durable, and loyal relationships with customers and teammates.
• Assist in business development efforts with steel fabricators, engineers, and architects.
• Maintain high standards of service through professional communication with internal and external customers.
• Review and consult with customers for value engineering opportunities.
• Design Vulcraft products to reduce costs and create value at bid time.
• Estimate products from contract documents and quote prices on projects.
• Present sustainability and technical product presentations to engineers, architects, and steel fabricators.
• Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-Accredited institution.
• Successfully completed the FE exam (or awaiting results from recent testing).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the steel joist/deck industry.
• Degree emphasis in structural design.
• Estimating/detailing experience.
• Knowledge of general building construction.
