About the position

As a Virtual Assistant at Wexford Volunteer Fire Department, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support that ensures the smooth functioning of our department. You will also be tasked with preparing, proofreading, and maintaining departmental documents, reports, and records, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date. Data entry will be a significant part of your responsibilities, as you will update and manage databases related to volunteer information, equipment inventory, and community outreach initiatives. Furthermore, you will serve as a point of contact for internal and external communications, handling inquiries and providing information to the public. Supporting the recruitment, scheduling, and coordination of volunteers will also be a key aspect of your role. You will manage volunteer records and track hours to ensure that all contributions are recognized. In addition, you will assist with updating the department's website and social media channels to keep the community informed and engaged. Lastly, you will troubleshoot basic technical issues and assist with the implementation of new tools or systems as needed, ensuring that our operations run smoothly.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with volunteers, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and take initiative in a remote work environment.
