About the position

The position is part of BILL's Virtual Card Operations team, focusing on identifying, implementing, and recommending enhancements for virtual card payment processes. The role requires a subject matter expert in payment processing to analyze and resolve complex issues, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize payment delivery and contribute to the continuous improvement of the virtual card product.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement virtual card enhancement opportunities regarding people, process, technology, and product.
  • Research vendors' available payment options and successfully deliver previously unsuccessful payments.
  • Recommend improvements to future payment delivery, efficiency, and success rates through operational changes.
  • Review, analyze, and resolve complex payment processing issues.
  • Identify and track patterns or potential systemic team issues in payment processing and escalate to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to enhance team processes and procedures.
  • Document best delivery practices at the vendor level and provide recommendations to optimize payment distribution.
  • Focus on increasing revenue by identifying opportunities to improve success rates at the vendor level.
  • Continuously innovate for process improvements and update the instructions database based on new insights.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with payment processing.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work-related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using multi-channel telephony technologies, such as chat, web-portal, and phone.
  • Ability to juggle multiple high-priority tasks and hold oneself accountable for ownership and deadlines.
  • Prior experience with coaching team members around soft skills, policies, processes, and workflows.
  • Passionate about research and investigation of payment exceptions; tenacious in uncovering the root cause of any issue.
  • Ability to think analytically to identify qualitative or quantitative trends and take appropriate actions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with G-Suite platform is preferred.
