About the position

Impact is seeking a Virtual CIO (vCIO) to serve as a strategic IT partner, driving business transformation through technology. The vCIO will manage the client lifecycle post-sale, ensuring that IT strategies align with business goals and leveraging technology to fuel growth. This role involves acting as a trusted advisor, solving complex challenges, managing risk, and delivering value to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive IT strategies that support clients' business goals and align technology investments with operational needs.
  • Manage client onboarding and maintain a forward-looking technology plan that adapts to evolving client needs.
  • Conduct Periodic Business Reviews to highlight client IT status and future planning aligned with organizational goals.
  • Integrate into the client's operations to offer tailored, strategic technology advice and ensure cohesive system management.
  • Identify potential risks in clients' technology stack and create budget plans prioritizing cost-effectiveness and stability.
  • Provide leadership on the adoption of new technologies to streamline processes and drive innovation.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure implemented solutions align with business objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of the client's technology ecosystem, ensuring effective integration and cost-efficient operation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in IT with a focus on leadership, technical account management, or strategy consulting.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technology strategies to C-level executives and business stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise-grade product stacks, including cloud platforms (Azure) and virtualization (VMware).
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and virtualization/storage solutions.
  • Proven track record guiding digital transformation initiatives and navigating evolving technology landscapes.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and tools, including vulnerability management.
  • Expertise in IT budgeting, risk management, and vendor management.
  • Exposure to IT governance frameworks like ITIL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced threat detection and multi-factor authentication.
  • Familiarity with IT governance best practices.
