About the position

The Virtual Color Expert serves as a trusted advisor to DIY enthusiasts, providing virtual color consultations to guide clients through their hair color journey. This role enhances Sally Beauty's brand reputation while driving sales and profitability by building lasting relationships and offering expert advice to ensure client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Connect, engage, and inspire clients through digital color consultations to build lasting relationships.
• Listen to clients' needs and make expert product recommendations, building customized shopping carts for their success.
• Provide expert advice and troubleshoot color situations to ensure positive outcomes for clients.
• Demonstrate 'build the basket' techniques to offer complimentary products that enhance the DIY experience.
• Assess clients' skill levels and teach on products and techniques for success.
• Utilize the Sally Engagement Model, provide tutorials, and follow up to ensure client satisfaction.
• Meet or exceed established metrics and color growth goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Cosmetology License required, with emphasis in Color Theory preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in retail, customer service, salon, or 1 year with Sally Beauty.
• Ability to pass a detailed Hair Color Knowledge Check.
• Strong professional image and positive client interaction skills.
• Proficiency in technology including software platforms, Microsoft Office, and digital video conferencing systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Proficient problem-solving skills for complex hair color situations.
• Flexibility to work scheduled hours and additional hours as needed, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
