About the position

The Virtual Design Technician at The Hill Group is responsible for preparing clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detail drawings from coordinated models, sketches, and notes for construction purposes. This role supports the coordination process by completing fabrication and construction documentation in a production environment, ensuring proficiency in fabrication workflows to produce construction drawings according to company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create complete and accurate construction and fabrication documents for use in the Shop and Field.
  • Accurately detail documents such as Hanger Drawings, Issued for Construction Drawings, Piping Spool Sheets, and Sheet Metal Assembly Drawings.
  • Utilize Trimble Files and Drawings with project-specific control points.
  • Produce accurate as-built drawings from field markups.
  • Perform drawing clean-up and project setup tasks.
  • Understand Virtual Construction Scope for effective time management.
  • Assist with Navisworks Model Management and attend coordination meetings for applicable projects.
  • Communicate with the project team to ensure fabrication/installation documents meet construction schedule requirements.
  • Maintain contact with the project team to understand schedule priorities and changes to installation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 0-4 years of relevant experience or a 2-year degree.
  • Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook).
