Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and immunizations to patients.
  • Obtain and record vital signs accurately.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure safe and efficient patient flow within the practice.
  • Track high-risk referrals and lab tests for patients.
  • Facilitate safe transitions of care for patients.
  • Organize the practice environment to assure patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to HEDIS and designated quality measures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant certification required (AAMA, RMA/AMT, NCRMA, NCMA, RCMAS, CCMA).
  • Completion of Medical Assistant training program or equivalent experience required.
  • Valid CPR certification required upon hire, with recertification every two years.
  • Five or more years of applicable MA experience in primary medical care may substitute for formal training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years' experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred.
