About the position

The Teacher Assistant/Buss Driver position at East Columbus Junior-Senior High School is a full-time role that combines instructional support with transportation duties. Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in the classroom with instructional activities and student support.
• Supervise students during classroom activities and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Provide transportation for students to and from school as a bus driver.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transit.
• Maintain discipline and order on the bus while following all safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student needs and transportation issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Experience working with children in an educational or support role is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a bus driver or in a transportation role.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Knowledge of special education practices.
