The Medical Assistant is a vital role within our practice, serving as the first point of contact for patients and ensuring they feel welcomed and cared for. This position involves preparing patients for their evaluations by clinical providers, which includes obtaining and documenting vital signs, as well as gathering past medical and social histories. The Medical Assistant will also be responsible for updating electronic medical records (EMR) to ensure accurate patient information is available for the healthcare team. In addition to direct patient care, the Medical Assistant will assist professional nursing staff by performing various tasks such as taking temperatures, measuring pulse, conducting screenings, and monitoring blood pressure and respiration. The role requires maintaining the workflow of the practice, which includes organizing exam rooms, managing supplies, and screening patient requests. The Medical Assistant will also be involved in scheduling appointments, making reminder calls, and ensuring that patient interactions are handled with professionalism and courtesy.
