About the position
The Virtual Middle School Math Teacher will be responsible for providing engaging and standards-aligned math instruction to students in grades 6-8 in a remote setting. This role involves utilizing live online lessons and interactive tools to enhance student understanding of key mathematical concepts, while fostering a positive and inclusive virtual learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver live, synchronous math lessons to middle school students (grades 6-8) in a virtual classroom setting.
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans aligned with South Carolina State Standards for Mathematics.
- Monitor and assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and assessments, providing timely feedback to guide improvement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive virtual learning environment.
- Participate in virtual staff meetings and other school-related activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Middle School Math (6-8) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum 1+ years teaching experience required.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience teaching middle school math (preferred), either in a traditional or virtual classroom.
