About the position
VocoVision is seeking a dedicated ESL/ELL Teacher to support English Language Learners (ELL) in a virtual setting. The role focuses on empowering students to achieve their academic goals while fostering social connections. The teacher will be responsible for creating an inclusive learning environment and utilizing effective teaching strategies tailored to the diverse needs of multilingual learners.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lessons tailored to students at different stages of English learning.
- Utilize research-based strategies to build listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Work with other teachers to ensure language development aligns with subject matter learning.
- Evaluate students' progress regularly and adjust instruction to fit their needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment, engaging families to reinforce learning at home.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Valid New Hampshire teaching license with an endorsement in ESL/ELL (or equivalent).
- Experience working with multilingual learners or culturally diverse populations.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in TESOL, Education, or a related area.
- Proficiency in a second language.
- Familiarity with WIDA standards and assessments.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and culturally responsive teaching practices.
