About The Position

The Virtual Observer - Tele-Sitters position at ProMedica Health System involves providing continuous observation of assigned patients to ensure their safety under the direction of a licensed nurse. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and ability to read, write, and understand directions.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to carry out verbal instructions.
• Basic computer operation skills, including Microsoft Windows.
• Observation, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills necessary for patient interaction.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
• Previous direct patient care experience.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Function as an active member of the healthcare team, maintaining confidentiality and following safety policies.
• Observe and communicate changes in patient behavior and safety needs to licensed personnel.
• Maintain visual contact with assigned patients at all times and respond to their requests.
• Coordinate breaks with the healthcare team to ensure continuous observation.
• Monitor multiple patients on one screen and remain alert at all times.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff and respond quickly to patient behavioral changes.
• Document patient observations and communications as required.
• Use a microphone and headset to communicate with patients effectively.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and attitudes.
