About the position

This position is for a registered nurse (RN) in a pilot program aimed at innovatively supporting patients. The role is based in Brentwood, MO, with a planned relocation to the BJH campus in late 2024. The RN will provide direct patient care, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on managing their illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient, family, or caregiver.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience as a floor nurse preferred.
• Nursing Diploma/Associate's in Nursing required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
