About the position

As a Virtual Sales Engineer I at Spectrum Enterprise, you will play a crucial role in enhancing sales through your technical expertise, creative thinking, and persuasive delivery. Your primary responsibility will be to partner with clients and sales teams to craft cost-effective proposals that meet the unique needs of some of the country's largest businesses. Spectrum Enterprise is dedicated to providing modern enterprise technology solutions, and as part of this mission, you will be involved in the entire sales cycle, from presenting products and proposals to new enterprise accounts to supporting the integration and implementation of solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing innovative solutions tailored to client applications, which includes preparing network topologies and technical specifications. You will also prepare and submit client network solution designs, forecast project cost elements, and collaborate with sales teams on solution pricing and submission of Internal Rate of Return (IRR) proposals. Your ability to review proposal solutions and create technical presentations will be essential in explaining product benefits to clients. Additionally, you will conduct client site surveys to distribute post-sale documentation and provide ongoing support. Responsibilities

  • Craft innovative solutions and technical sales proposals to highlight service benefits to clients.
  • Support the sales cycle by presenting products and proposals to new enterprise accounts.
  • Design solutions for client applications, including preparation of network topologies and technical specifications.
  • Prepare and submit client network solution designs and forecast project cost elements.
  • Partner with Sales teams on solution pricing and submission of an Internal Rate of Return (IRR).
  • Review proposal solutions and create technical presentations to explain product benefits.
  • Support the integration and implementation of solutions by answering questions for sales support.
  • Conduct client site surveys to distribute post-sale documentation and support.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of telecommunications sales engineering experience.
  • Cisco certification, such as CCDA, CCNA or CCNP.
  • Understanding of DPL, EVPL, ELAN, LAN and WAN.
  • Familiarity with fundamentals related to routers, switches, MAN DS3, OC-x, CSU, DSU and other CPE.
  • Knowledge of DNS, TCP, IP, VPNs and data security methods.
  • Experience with voice networking.
  • Adept with MPLS, VPLS, VoIP, SONET and DWDM.
  • Expert in routing protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong presentation and English communication skills.
  • Proven ability to conduct a consultative analysis and provide recommendations.
