About the position

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Full-Time Final Assembly Vendor Interface Tooling Engineer to support all New Model Programs. This role will be embedded at both the Tooling Vendors Facility and Ford Headquarters in Dearborn, MI. The Vendor Interface Engineer will play a crucial role in collaborating directly with Tooling Suppliers, leading the development of tooling solutions, and ensuring that these tools meet the necessary specifications for customer buyoff. This includes overseeing the entire process from the initial design phase through to the shipping of tooling to the manufacturing plants. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including suppliers and internal teams. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that tooling is developed in accordance with Ford's quality standards and timelines. You will work closely with engineering teams to understand the requirements for new models and translate these into actionable tooling specifications. Additionally, you will be involved in troubleshooting any issues that arise during the tooling development process, ensuring that all tools are delivered on time and within budget. Your expertise will be essential in driving continuous improvement initiatives within the tooling development process, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Ford's manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven problem-solving abilities in a manufacturing environment.
