About the position

The Plant Controller at DYMA Brands is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Visalia plant, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP. This role involves preparing financial statements, managing the monthly closing process, and providing financial analysis to support decision-making. The Plant Controller will also contribute to the improvement of accounting systems and processes while providing guidance to less experienced staff members.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly closing process through journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements for external parties including auditors and lenders.
• Conduct account reconciliations and roll forwards to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate policy and GAAP.
• Review and approve reconciliations prepared by others.
• Prepare weekly Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reporting.
• Review Purchase Order receipts and reconcile to journal entry postings in Oracle.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of accounting systems and processes.
• Communicate accounting policies and procedures across the organization.
• Assist management and customers in interpreting accounting reports and resolving issues.
• Support annual audit requirements and interface with auditors.
• Perform weekly inventory mock audits and cycle counts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of directly related experience, preferably in a multi-site environment.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP.
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably QAD and/or Oracle.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
