About the position

The Area Sales Manager position at Lumenis is a pivotal role that involves driving sales activities within the assigned territory of Phoenix, Arizona. This position is responsible for maintaining and expanding sales within the existing customer base while also prospecting and building a pipeline for new business opportunities. The Area Sales Manager will focus on competitive accounts and targeted non-core physicians and businesses, developing strong relationships with key decision-makers at multiple levels. This role requires a proactive approach to coaching, mentoring, and leading Territory Managers through the sales process of significant accounts. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing quarterly, monthly, and weekly plans designed to maximize customer relationships and improve face-to-face selling time in the assigned territory. This includes conducting cold calls, on-site visits, and ensuring pipeline progression and ongoing activity. The Area Sales Manager will also be responsible for forecasting and submitting sales reports in a timely manner, working closely with regional sales leaders to plan and execute territory strategies aimed at winning account opportunities and achieving overall sales targets on a monthly and quarterly basis. Travel is a key component of this role, with expectations of 50% or less travel required, primarily within the assigned territory and throughout the United States for training, tradeshows, and company/team meetings. The position reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager and is integral to the growth and success of Lumenis in the Ophthalmology and Aesthetic markets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand sales within existing customer base.
  • Prospect and build pipeline for new business opportunities, including competitive accounts and targeted non-core physicians/businesses.
  • Develop strong relationships with key decision makers at multiple levels.
  • Coach, mentor, and lead Territory Managers through the sales process of significant accounts.
  • Develop quarterly, monthly, and weekly plans to maximize customer relationships and improve face-to-face selling time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferred).
  • 4+ years of sales experience, with strong experience in B2B or capital equipment sales, preferably in medical devices.
  • Proven track record of meeting sales quotas and driving sales growth.
  • Ability to manage a quota in excess of $1.5 million annually.
  • Experience in managing and closing complex sales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to use a personal vehicle.
