About the position

The Area Sales Manager position at Lumenis is a pivotal role focused on driving sales growth within the assigned territory of Ohio, specifically in Cincinnati. This position is integral to maintaining and expanding sales within the existing customer base while also prospecting for new business opportunities. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing strong relationships with key decision-makers and ensuring that customer relationships are maximized through effective planning and execution of sales strategies. The role requires the development of quarterly, monthly, and weekly plans aimed at improving face-to-face selling time and enhancing customer engagement. The Area Sales Manager will be expected to build a robust sales pipeline, ensuring its progression through on-site visits and cold calling efforts. Additionally, the position involves forecasting sales and submitting regular reports to track performance against targets. Collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager is essential to strategize and execute territory plans that will lead to winning account opportunities. Travel is a significant aspect of this role, with expectations of 50% or less travel required for training, attending tradeshows, and participating in company meetings. The successful candidate will be a key player in the sales team, contributing to Lumenis's mission of providing innovative energy-based technologies in the Ophthalmology and Aesthetic markets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand sales within the existing customer base.
  • Prospect and build a pipeline for new business opportunities.
  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Create quarterly, monthly, and weekly plans to maximize customer relationships.
  • Improve face-to-face selling time in the assigned territory.
  • Develop and ensure pipeline progression through on-site visits and cold calling.
  • Forecast and submit sales reports.
  • Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to plan and execute territory strategies.
  • Travel primarily within the assigned territory and the United States for training, tradeshows, and company/team meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in outside business-to-business sales or outside capital device sales.
  • Demonstrated/proven track record of meeting quota and driving sales growth.
  • Ability to manage quota and close complex sales.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.
  • A valid driver's license.
