About the position

As a Vision Center Manager at Walmart, you will drive sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, which includes maintaining accurate and competitive pricing, proper signage, and optimal inventory levels. Developing action plans to improve performance and ensuring confidentiality of information will also be key responsibilities. You will provide supervision and development opportunities for Associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Your leadership will foster a diverse and inclusive environment, ensuring that all team members feel valued and recognized. You will also ensure the provision of quality eyewear by consulting with and educating customers, selecting products based on their needs, and maintaining optical equipment. Responsibilities

  • Drive sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate pricing and inventory levels.
  • Model and enforce customer service approaches to resolve customer needs and complaints.
  • Oversee community outreach programs and encourage Associates to engage with the community.
  • Ensure compliance with company and legal policies by analyzing reports and implementing safety controls.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for Associates through hiring, training, and mentoring.
  • Consult with and educate customers on eyewear, verifying prescriptions and maintaining optical equipment.
  • Implement action plans to improve performance and ensure confidentiality of information.
  • Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion within the team.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support business needs and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2 or more years of college OR 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience OR 2 years' general work experience including 1 year's optical experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws.
