About the position

The Vision Inspection Programmer at PacSci EMC is responsible for inspecting component materials to ensure they meet specified tolerances and requirements. This role involves creating and operating vision inspection programs, supporting engineering staff during product development, and verifying machine programs. The position requires attention to detail and experience with mechanical components, contributing directly to the quality assurance processes within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect component materials to ensure compliance with blueprints and purchase order specifications.
  • Create vision inspection programs based on established criteria.
  • Support engineering staff during new product development and non-conformance findings.
  • Verify machine programs with other inspection sources and perform necessary updates.
  • Run inspection programs and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using basic equipment and established procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Interpret basic drawings and instructions for inspection tasks.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments, including optical comparators, for inspections.
  • Generate and perform verification activities on Non-Conforming Material Reports.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections as required.
  • Perform Surveillance Audits as necessary.
  • Adapt to new equipment and learn new products as required.
  • Support overtime as scheduled by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' related experience in quality inspection or programming.
  • Experience with Keyence IM series programming and operation, and/or OGP Smart Scope programming and operation using Measure X or Zone 3 software.
  • Strong understanding and application of GD&T, specifically Y-14.5 '82 and '94.
  • Familiarity with developing, testing, and error-proofing programs for vision systems.
  • Knowledge and use of traditional inspection equipment.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in MS Suite and ERP/MRP applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • IPC 600, 610 and JStandard certification preferred.
  • Experience with a variety of mechanical components and inspection processes.
