The University of Mississippi School of Law invites applications and nominations for visiting professors during the 2025-2026 academic year. Depending on the courses being taught, we are flexible regarding one semester (fall or spring) or full academic-year visitorships. Appointments will be at the rank of visiting assistant, visiting associate, or visiting full professor depending on experience. Alternatively, the University of Mississippi School of Law also invites applications and nominations for our VAP program. VAPs spend four semesters (Fall 2025 through Spring 2027) in residence at the law school, gaining both teaching experience and the opportunity to devote substantial time to research, writing, and other scholarly pursuits. VAPs are given the opportunity to present work in progress to the Law School faculty and, more generally, to receive feedback and mentoring from faculty members in preparation for the academic job market. Course loads and teaching schedules are devised with sensitivity to the timing of the job market process. We are looking for candidates to teach several courses including Intellectual Property/Trademarks, Wills and Estates, Family Law, Bankruptcy, Business Associations, Secured Transactions, Corporate Finance, Civil Procedure, Contracts, Labor Law, Employment Law, and Health Care Law.
