About the position

The University of Connecticut is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor for the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program for the Spring 2025 semester. This non-tenure track position involves teaching undergraduate courses on topics such as women, gender, and film, feminism and science fiction, and critical approaches to women's, gender, and sexuality studies. The role requires the ability to teach both online and in-person, and may include oversight of graduate student teaching assistants. Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of undergraduate courses in women's, gender, and sexuality studies.
  • Develop and implement course materials and syllabi.
  • Oversee graduate student teaching assistants, if applicable.
  • Participate in committee work and service to the unit and/or campus.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary feminist teaching and research.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field of women's, gender, and sexuality studies.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses.
  • Experience in asynchronous online teaching modalities.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse student body.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
