About the position

The Visiting Professor of Business position at Widener University is a one-year, non-tenure track role focused on teaching undergraduate courses in general business, accounting, and finance. Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate four courses per semester in general business, accounting, and finance.
  • Develop and deliver course materials, including syllabi, lectures, assignments, and exams.
  • Maintain office hours to provide academic support and advising to students.
  • Engage in school and university service, including participation in faculty meetings and committees.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Participate in school assessment and curriculum development activities.
  • Stay current with developments in the field to ensure course content remains relevant and up-to-date.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or directed.
  • Participate in school-related recruiting and retention activities.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in business, accounting, and finance.
  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence and student engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A Ph.D., DBA, or other terminal degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous teaching experience at the school or university level at both undergraduate and graduate levels of instruction.
  • Professional experience in business, accounting, or finance.
  • Familiarity with online teaching platforms and technology-enhanced learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
