About the position

As a Visual Associate at West Elm, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management team to achieve the store's goals by providing exceptional service and creating engaging experiences for customers. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as a role model in building relationships with customers while maintaining a strong presence in the store to ensure appropriate staff coverage in various areas. You will be excited about the opportunity to share your expertise in styling, decorating, and entertaining, making West Elm a neighborhood destination for inspiration. In this role, you will interpret and execute visual inspiration that drives sales and conveys the eclectic, creative, and modern spirit of the West Elm brand. You will ensure that merchandising and displays are visually compelling, which is essential for driving sales. Additionally, you will model and coach associates on how to uphold visual standards, promoting the lifestyle and protecting the image of the West Elm brand. Your efforts will contribute to making the store a fun and inspirational destination for the community. You will continually seek out inspiration and trends to elevate product, decorating, and styling expertise. Regular replenishment of the sales floor and maintaining visual presentation and displays will be part of your responsibilities. You will execute floorsets to reflect the inspiration, standards, and spirit of the directive within the required timeframe. Collaboration with the sales team will be essential, as you appreciate and value the talents and contributions of others. Responsibilities

  • Create engaging experiences for customers by sharing expertise on styling, decorating & entertaining

  • Ensure merchandising & displays are visually compelling to drive sales

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in merchandising or visual role
  • 1-2 years experience in home related design or visual merchandising preferred
  • Effective communication, organization and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples
  • College degree preferred or equivalent job experience
