About the position

This position will be a part of the Visual Design Team specializing in Accessory Merchandise. The Visual Design - Accessories will pull and transport Accessory Merchandise from the warehouse to the appropriate staging area to open, hard mark, and tag all said merchandise daily to allow merchandise to be loaded onto the show floor in due time. This position will assist in all accessory markdowns and all things applicable to said Accessory Merchandise. All said Accessory Merchandise includes but is not limited to tabletop accessories, art, mirrors, lighting, greenery, trees, baskets, seasonal items, etc. At AFW, we are proud that customers can pick up their furniture and accessories and take it home the same day. This position will be a critical part of fulfilling that promise to the customer. The Visual Design - Accessories will safely operate a Stock Picker, Down Forklift, and any other equipment necessary to transport merchandise for customers and the Visual Design Department. We provide full training and certifications for all equipment. Pay: $20-22/Hr (DOE and Visual Design Degree).

Responsibilities

• Pull and transport Accessory Merchandise from the warehouse to the staging area.
• Open, hard mark, and tag merchandise daily for timely loading onto the show floor.
• Assist in all accessory markdowns and related tasks.
• Safely operate a Stock Picker, Down Forklift, and other necessary equipment.
• Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to improve processes and maximize efficiency.
• Create effective processes to hard mark and tag merchandise without damage.
• Work with Visual Designers, Staging, Sales Management, and Buying Team members to develop strategies and best practices.
• Actively participate in annual show floor inventory scans.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Work a flexible schedule that meets business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Visual Design or Accessory Merchandising experience preferred.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently under direct supervision.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment is helpful but not required.
• Commitment to safety and knowledge of correct lifting techniques.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies including Storis, iPads, Excel, and Word.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cherry pickers.
• Ability to handle fragile materials such as glass, metal, and ceramics.
