About the position

MathWorks is seeking an experienced Visual Designer to join our in-house agency, focusing on creating innovative designs for various events including Trade Shows, EXPOs, Conferences, and other Marketing Communication materials. This role is pivotal in developing strategically driven, brand-focused visual design solutions that resonate with our audience both in North America and internationally. The Visual Designer will work closely with an Agile team to coordinate strategic planning and execute deliverables that support our events, ensuring that all designs align with MathWorks' brand identity and standards. In this position, you will collaborate with the creative director and the visual design team to build a strong brand identity for MathWorks. You will also be responsible for educating third-party vendors on the use of event deliverables and reviewing the assets they produce to ensure quality and consistency. Your ability to translate business partner needs into smart, measurable creative strategies will be essential in differentiating MathWorks and enhancing the customer experience. The role requires establishing design languages across events that reinforce the MathWorks brand, creating associated templates and guidelines for both online and offline deliverables. You will manage projects from start to finish, utilizing project tracking applications and digital asset management systems. A strong awareness of design trends and innovations in related fields is crucial, as you will continually consider how these trends influence our work. Responsibilities

  • Develop strategically driven, brand focused, visual design solutions for North American and International Trade Shows, EXPOs, Conferences, Research Conferences, Advisory Boards, etc.
  • Work on an Agile team to coordinate strategic planning and execute on deliverables that support events.
  • Collaborate with the creative director and visual design team to build a strong brand identity for MathWorks.
  • Educate third party vendors on the use of event deliverables and review the assets they produce.
  • Translate business partner needs into smart, measurable creative strategies that differentiate MathWorks and enhance the customer experience.
  • Build strong, collaborative business partnerships with key clients, colleagues, and vendors across the globe.
  • Establish design languages across events that reinforce the MathWorks brand.
  • Create associated templates and guidelines for online and offline deliverables.
  • Understand and utilize brand standards, project tracking applications, and digital asset management systems.
  • Manage projects from start to finish.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of design trends and innovations in related fields.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience, or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Experience working with brand guidelines and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills and an eye for detail.
  • Events and experiential design capabilities are a big plus.
