The Visual Design Team at Carvana is seeking a talented Visual Designer to join our dynamic team based in Los Angeles. In this role, you will be instrumental in making a lasting impact across a diverse array of customer touchpoints, both digital and physical. We are looking for a candidate who has a deep passion for design and branding, along with exceptional mastery of their craft. As a Visual Designer, you will be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and a focus on the brand's needs. A keen eye for innovation is essential, as you will be expected to produce work that resonates with Carvana's brand while also pioneering creative avenues for the evolution of our brand identity. This position is ideal for an ambitious individual who thrives in a collaborative environment. You will be committed to elevating design standards, actively contributing to the broader goals of the team, and eager to partner with senior-level team members to craft high-end design solutions. Your responsibilities will include developing guidelines for consistent, on-brand, high-quality work, converting strategic goals into compelling design solutions, managing brand identity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create meaningful designs. You will ensure that all work adheres to Carvana's voice and visual style, shaping how we communicate our brand.

Responsibilities

  • Develop guidelines for consistent, on-brand, high-quality work for both digital and physical worlds.
  • Convert strategic goals into compelling design solutions.
  • Translate strategy to visual design solutions.
  • Manage brand identity, sponsorships, sub-brands, and partnerships.
  • Transform concepts into stunning designs.
  • Shape how we communicate our brand.
  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to create meaningful and impactful designs.
  • Work on projects from conception through delivery.
  • Ensure that all the work done adheres to Carvana's voice and visual style.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working as a professional designer in-house or agency.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • An available online portfolio.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • An ability to handle multiple projects, manage your time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • An eye for detail and consistency across the entire customer journey.
  • Ability to take charge of a project when necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Animation or 3D skills would be a plus.
