About the position

The Visual Graphics Designer will be responsible for creating graphic designs and visual content to support government customers' strategic priorities and overall mission. This role involves designing branding materials, templates for newsletters, marketing signage, presentations, infographics, and other data visualization projects. The designer will also provide graphics support for various organizations within the division, assisting in the development of geospatial and heat maps, among other visual requests.

Responsibilities

  • Determine scope, nature, and intended audience of the information being conveyed.
  • Create and produce presentation materials of advanced corporate level quality directed to specific audiences.
  • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selecting style and size of type.
  • Plan projects and coordinate project resources, creating layout and design, and interfacing with other production personnel when applicable.
  • Analyze and evaluate text to determine the best visual means to combine word and art to express a message tailored to a specific audience.
  • Advise customers in all areas of desktop publishing and graphic art production.
  • Develop projects, establish schedules, and target completion dates for each project.

Requirements

  • Must have TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Subject to Counter-Intelligence polygraph (TS/SCI with CI-Polygraph) within first 6-months of employment.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, fine arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience producing graphic design and content writing for executive-level audiences.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience in repackaging written products into visual products.
  • Experience producing newsletters, presentations, and other communication products involving complex topics and graphics for various audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-start and take initiative with minimal support or guidance.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
