VISUAL MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST

About the position

The Visual Merchandising Specialist at Micro Center is responsible for executing the company's visual merchandising strategy and standards to create an engaging shopping environment. This role involves collaborating with store leadership and corporate teams to implement vendor-sponsored displays, ensuring that visual merchandising contributes to sales goals, and training store associates on visual standards. The position requires creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Execute the company Visual Merchandising strategy and standards as defined in the Visual Merchandising & Displays guide.
• Ensure ongoing changes monthly and quarterly in the Visual Merchandising & Displays guide.
• Utilize creativity to create a welcoming visual merchandising environment for customers.
• Understand sales goals and execute daily/weekly workload to meet sales and ASP goals.
• Provide a setting conducive to meeting customer needs and wants.
• Partner with store leadership and corporate to plan and validate the execution of displays and vendor-paid visuals.
• Teach and influence store sales associates to ensure proper restocking throughout the business days.
• Conduct periodic physical inventories of displays.
• Participate in ongoing store sales training and leadership meetings, training as needed.
• Support team onboarding and help close knowledge and skill gaps through training and hands-on experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years related management or supervisory experience in retail visual merchandising or retail operations.
• Strong understanding of consumer behavior and visual merchandising impact on customer experience.
• Skilled at executing visual merchandising in various store spaces.
• Pro-active problem solver with the ability to assess and resolve issues.
• Exceptional written, verbal, visual communication and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and energetic.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other common business software.
• Ability to interpret general business periodicals such as the Visual Merchandising and Displays handbook.
