About the position

Scentsy Inc is seeking a Visual UI Designer to create and coordinate digital artwork for various visual communication platforms, including e-commerce websites, landing pages, emails, and social media. The role focuses on developing user-centered designs that enhance usability and desirability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on-brand creative concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and creates on-brand, user-centered designs for websites.
  • Works collaboratively with the web team to improve the usability, usefulness, and desirability of websites.
  • Makes recommendations to integrate design into development rules and system architecture.
  • Creates mood boards and seasonal concept presentations.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to develop creative concepts.
  • Manages timelines and creative resources.
  • Collaborates with Project Managers to determine timelines for design deliverables.
  • Participates in brainstorming and conceptual design discussions with project stakeholders.
  • Works on small design projects or pieces of larger design projects.
  • Conducts market research to stay current with industry trends.
  • Assists with improving the end-user experience.
  • Assists with communicating and documenting user-interactions and design ideas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 year of related experience preferred.
  • Online portfolio displaying user-centered and e-commerce design required.
  • Basic skills in web production and front-end development using programming and minor understanding of scripting languages.
  • Basic familiarity with platform/browser compatibility and basic usability issues.
  • Visual graphic design and interactive design skills with an understanding of web design principles.
  • Knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques, with a strong online portfolio displaying user-centered and e-commerce design.
  • Understanding of changes in appearance of websites across different platforms (mobile, desktop, etc.).
  • Knowledge of business and user requirements, as well as technical considerations for web projects.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS, and web wireframing environments such as Figma.
  • Experience implementing social media elements and campaigns.
  • Familiarization with Content Management Systems and content update schedules.
