About the position

Re:Car dba SLATE is seeking an energetic and organized Visual Designer to join our growing team in the electric vehicle space. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of designers, product managers, marketing experts, and engineers to implement brand style across various platforms, including user interfaces, website design, and marketing communications. The Visual Designer will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and creating visual solutions to communication challenges, ensuring that the visual expression aligns with organizational objectives. The position requires presenting design solutions to internal teams and leadership, contextualizing these solutions within the framework of business and customer goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio that showcases their expertise in design principles, messaging hierarchy, typography, color theory, and layout techniques. They should also demonstrate a systematic approach to brand, website, and app visuals, as well as experience in defining and maintaining design patterns and UI systems. In addition to technical skills, the Visual Designer should possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, with a passion for emerging technologies and new interaction models. Responsibilities

• Work with a team of designers, product managers, marketing experts, and engineers on various initiatives.
• Implement brand style across user interface, website design, and marketing communications.
• Plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communication problems.
• Collaborate with design and marketing leadership to align visual expression with organizational objectives.
• Present design solutions to internal teams and leadership, contextualizing them within business and customer goals.

Requirements

• 4+ years of design experience; 6+ years preferred.
• Associate's degree or certificate in graphic design or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design principles, messaging hierarchy, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
• Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UI systems.
• Expert in using Adobe Creative Suite, Office, and other design software and tools.
• Knowledgeable of web design standards, best practices, and accessibility guidelines.
• Experience delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity with multiple stakeholders.
• Highly organized with robust time-management capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in both writing and speaking the English language.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with UX design of complex workflows.
• Experience designing in an agile development environment.
