About the position

The Visualization and Augmented Analytics Engineer at Navy Federal Credit Union is responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and maintaining data analytics systems and product solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create interactive data visualizations and dashboards that enhance decision-making processes. The engineer will leverage expertise in data engineering, AI, ML, and NLP to develop strategies that optimize data integration and support business needs. As a subject matter expert, the engineer will also lead initiatives to drive the adoption of analytics solutions across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data analytics and visualizations to aid business decision-making.
• Combine member experience insights with data visualization to enhance analytical interfaces.
• Establish standards and best practices for interactive data visualizations and dashboards.
• Collaborate with teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
• Optimize data structure for clarity and reusability to deliver actionable insights.
• Stay updated on industry trends in data visualization for continuous improvement.
• Implement Augmented Analytics features in BI platforms to enhance insight generation.
• Champion analytics solutions across business units, providing training and establishing best practices.
• Maximize the value of solutions by driving adoption and monitoring performance.
• Migrate dashboards from legacy BI platforms to cloud-native solutions.
• Lead the evaluation and implementation of new analytics capabilities.
• Track performance monitoring and usage reporting for BI tools.
• Provide scalable solutions for large data volumes and complex reporting.
• Prepare high-quality project deliverables for stakeholders.
• Act as a technical SME in analytics and data projects using Agile methodology.

Requirements

• Proven expertise with enterprise BI platforms like Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with Augmented Analytics capabilities such as Power BI Copilot or Tableau Pulse.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with UI/UX design principles for interactive visualizations.
• Experience in delivering data analytics solutions for business decisions.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for Big Data Analytics.
• Experience in documenting BI standards and training users.
• Experience working with Agile teams in cloud environments like Azure.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks ETL.
• Experience with Azure Synapse.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
• Analytical mindset to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience with big data sets in Azure Data Lake and Azure Cosmos DB.
• Experience developing front-end applications using HTML, .Net, JS, and/or CSS.
• Experience with front-end design technologies for creative widgets.
• Experience in DevOps and monitoring analytics.
• Knowledge of banking/financial industry trends.
