About the position

The Network Architect role at VITA involves providing data networking solutions and oversight for legacy telecommunications services, including broadband internet circuits and cloud networking. The position requires a strong understanding of the data networking services lifecycle, from strategic planning to operations and financial management. The architect will also perform assessments of voice and data networking technologies to manage the existing portfolio and develop future roadmaps. This role is critical in managing technology incidents and ensuring effective resolution of customer escalations.

Responsibilities

• Provide data networking solutions and oversight for legacy telco services.
• Assist with the data networking services lifecycle from strategic planning to operations and financials.
• Perform technology and operational assessments for voice and data networking.
• Manage general technology incidents and lead them to resolution.
• Respond to and resolve customer escalations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of and experience with data and network monitoring technology (3 years required).
• Network expertise to specify business requirements for current and future network services (3 years required).
• Experience in networking incident management (3 years required).
• Experience working in a State government/agency (3 years desired).
• Cloud networking experience (3 years highly desired).
• Experience with commercial broadband circuits (e.g., Comcast) (3 years required).
