About the position

The Sales Representative at VITAS Healthcare is responsible for educating medical professionals about hospice services through a consultative sales approach. This role focuses on meeting customer needs by providing end-of-life care solutions, becoming a subject matter expert on Medicare Hospice Benefits, and developing sales strategies that align with customer requirements. The representative will analyze their territory for optimal growth, maintain professional relationships, and leverage technology and resources to achieve sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Educate medical professionals about hospice services using a consultative sales approach.
• Become a subject matter expert on Medicare Hospice Benefit and VITAS service offerings.
• Analyze territory and develop call routing for maximal growth.
• Develop sales messaging and strategies that align with customer needs.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing publications and networking.
• Utilize CRM tools to capture customer needs and strategies for hospice utilization.
• Collaborate with internal clinical teams and attend regular team meetings.
• Investigate customer feedback and develop solutions for improvement.
• Complete administrative duties in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of sales experience or in healthcare services preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals and exceed corporate targets.
• Strong customer service skills and a sense of urgency.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a territory and conduct sales calls effectively.
• Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in hospice services preferred but not required.
• Past military service is a plus.
• Experience with volunteer organizations is a plus.
