The Viz/Graphics Operator position at Bloomberg involves working in a fast-paced broadcast environment, responsible for firing live graphics during news broadcasts. The role requires collaboration with technical and editorial teams to ensure high-quality visual presentations, particularly in a 24/7 control room setting. The operator will manage graphics in real-time, adapting to breaking news and maintaining accuracy under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Move quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
• Collaborate with the technical team and editorial personnel to ensure a quality visual presentation.
• Read, follow, and execute all relevant tasks outlined in a live news broadcast rundown.
• Operate a live broadcast graphics rundown, firing lower-third and full screen graphics while communicating with control room crew and editorial colleagues.
• Fire out set backgrounds to video wall engines in NY and global studio surfaces.
• Assign and fire full screen graphics into appropriate channels for routing into video surfaces in coordination with the technical director.
• Change graphics in the wall engines as cued by technical and editorial personnel.
• Follow along with breaking news developments, matching relevant graphics with on-air conversations.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience working in a LIVE TV environment.
• 1 year of experience operating within the Viz ecosystem or with relevant live graphics software.
• Ability to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy under tight deadlines in high-pressure situations.
