About the position

The Vocational Adjustment Services Worker at Wernersville State Hospital is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating vocational programs that provide therapeutic work experiences for clients. This role requires strong interpersonal and observational skills to assess clients for vocational placement in the community, ensuring a supportive environment that adapts to their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate vocational programs for clients.
  • Provide therapeutic work experiences in a sheltered workshop setting.
  • Evaluate clients for vocational placement in the community.
  • Schedule client workshops and maintain clinical records.
  • Comply with all regulations governing sheltered workshops.

Requirements

  • Four years of experience in Vocational Adjustment Services for individuals with mental or physical illness or handicaps.
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in Vocational Rehabilitation, Vocational Education, Counseling, or a related Human Services field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
