About the position

The Vocational Instructor for Plumbing at the High Desert State Prison is responsible for delivering educational programs aligned with the policies of the Office of Correctional Education. This role involves preparing instructional materials and assessments that meet the standards set by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. The instructor will work to equip incarcerated individuals with the skills necessary for successful reintegration into society through vocational training in plumbing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver instructional materials for plumbing courses.
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback aligned with educational standards.
  • Implement approved curriculum in accordance with CDCR policies.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid teaching credential or equivalent qualifications in plumbing.
