About the position

The Vocational Instructor for Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, helping them develop essential skills for successful employment. This role focuses on preparing students for the workforce through tailored training programs, fostering independence, and enhancing employability skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement vocational training programs tailored to the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students in areas such as job readiness, workplace etiquette, and soft skills development.
  • Collaborate with local businesses to create internship and job placement opportunities for students.
  • Assess student progress and adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and group activities that promote teamwork and communication skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and program outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly in a vocational or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of job readiness skills and employment resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in vocational rehabilitation or related field.
  • Experience in curriculum development for vocational training programs.
  • Knowledge of local labor market trends and employer expectations.
