About the position

Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients.
- Participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care given.
- Performs admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Reviews and modifies the nursing plan of care under supervision.
- Observes and records signs, symptoms, and behaviors of patients.
- Notifies appropriate nursing and medical staff of changes in patient status.
- Follows physician's orders in the delivery of nursing care.
- Safely administers medications and treatments.
- Documents nursing care in all assigned patient records.
- Adheres to infection control and aseptic techniques.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program.
- Current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS-HP certification required.
