About the position

The Voice and Hardware Systems Engineer at Leidos will support mission-critical IT systems and telecommunications at Vandenberg SFB, CA. This role involves executing and supervising Voice System Engineering operations throughout the operational lifecycle of customer-directed mission applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership and collaboration across various technical areas to achieve program goals and ensure the stability of mission processors and voice systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system level engineering support for mission critical IT systems, telecommunications trunk circuits, voicemail, and telephone instrument units.
  • Support enterprise voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems including Cisco VoIP units and Call Manager System.
  • Ensure voice availability and reliability through proactive engineering methodologies and request fulfillment activities.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions through deep analysis of impacts to the end-product/solution.
  • Ensure the availability of mission critical launch communications systems through proactive voice systems IT systems engineering.
  • Perform incident and problem management to resolve or escalate issues to restore service.
  • Support configuration management and change management activities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • BS degree with 4 - 8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2 - 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Current DoD 8570 certification applicable to the position (typically Security+).
  • Understanding of complex, classified, mission-specific communications infrastructure and technology supporting US strategic launch capabilities.
  • Experience in launch or mission operations.
  • Experience performing voice systems engineering on mission critical systems.
  • Knowledge of mission critical desktop and communications hardware and software.
  • Experience supporting configuration management, change management, and service transition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to perform call-in support as required.

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with SharePoint and ServiceNow.
  • ITIL Foundations certification.
