About the position

The Voice Engineer at Utah Transit Authority is primarily responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and repair of server, voice, and related video communication systems and networks, including call centers and control centers. This role provides technical support for the voice network, circuits, and Enterprise Unified Communications, ensuring effective communication systems are in place.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement voice and video communication systems and networks.
  • Maintain and repair server and voice communication systems.
  • Provide technical support for the voice network and related circuits.
  • Support Enterprise Unified Communications with voice and video systems.
  • Manage and integrate third-party platforms related to Unified Communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to computer hardware, software, or information systems.
  • Eight years of experience with Enterprise Unified Communications, including Cisco systems.
  • Eight years of experience with telecommunication carriers and associated circuits.
  • Eight years of experience with Call Routing, SIP, Qos, VOIP, TCP/IP.
  • Four years of experience administering virtual servers such as VMware ESX.

Nice-to-haves

  • IT related professional certifications such as CCIE Collaboration, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Security+, VMware Certified Professional, Red Hat Certified Engineer.
  • Project management experience.
  • Advanced project management skills.
