About the position

Mastech is a growing company dedicated to innovation and teamwork. We are currently seeking a Voice Lead IT Project Manager for our client in the IT Services domain. This role is crucial as it involves providing project leadership and ensuring that the project is executed efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in project management, particularly in managing complex IT projects. The position is a contract role with a duration of 12 months, and the client is looking for someone to start immediately. The location for this position is Sacramento, CA, and the compensation will be at market rate. As a Voice Lead IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for motivating project team members, setting achievable objectives, and maintaining a positive outlook throughout the project lifecycle. You will build, track, and monitor project plans using tools such as MS Project or RPM Workbench to ensure that the project remains on schedule and within budget. It is essential to ensure that project data is accurate and readily available for management review, and to proactively inform management of potential problems and risks to mitigate them effectively. In this role, you will utilize a proactive change control process and employ negotiation skills to achieve successful project outcomes regarding issues, scope, schedule, costs/budget, and resources. You will also manage the project funding and budget process, overseeing project managers and teams from other groups who supply resources and services to the project. Compliance with the Principles of Responsibility is critical, which includes maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information and adhering to applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project leadership to motivate project team members, set achievable objectives, maintain a positive outlook, take responsibility, make decisions and provide constructive feedback.
  • Build, track and monitor project plan(s) using either MS Project or RPM Workbench to ensure that the project is on schedule and budget.
  • Ensure project data is accurate and available for review by management and ensure that management is proactively informed of potential problems and risks.
  • Utilize a proactive change control process.
  • Use negotiation skills to achieve successful project outcomes around issues, scope, schedule, costs/budget and resources.
  • Manage the project funding/budget process.
  • Manage project managers and teams from other groups who supply resources and services to the project.
  • Support compliance and the Principles of Responsibility by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management.
  • Proven expertise in project planning methodology and in leading a matrixed team through a capital construction project life cycle.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight to identify needed resources, define roles and responsibilities, and arrange for the assignment of key project participants.
  • Strong client relationship building skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, medium to large-scale project schedules with multiple inter-dependencies.
  • Knowledge of Cisco's VoIP platform is required.
