About the position

The Voice Network Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and deploying core network voice and data services. This includes working with telephony switches, Session Border Controllers, and VoIP systems to ensure high reliability and performance for an international customer base. The role involves translating complex business requirements into effective solutions and maintaining production-ready configurations.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, implement, document, and operate multitenant solutions such as Cisco and Metaswitch.
• Maintain and support the voice network to ensure high reliability for call routing across all CallTower platforms.
• Coordinate with non-technical staff and act as the highest level of escalation for support and solution architects.
• Support voice switch translations and TDM network, serving as an escalation point for other engineers.
• Maintain quality and throughput metrics for data and voice delivery.
• Stay updated on industry knowledge related to network and IP telephony technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of experience as a voice network engineer or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Session Border Controller configuration.
• Ability to maintain, provision, and support networking and telecommunications infrastructure.
• In-depth knowledge of voice networking technologies, including Class 4/5 switch operation and TDM Voice networking.
• Strong understanding of data networking and QoS mechanisms.
• Expertise in VoIP signaling protocols such as SIP, H323, and SCCP.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, problem resolution, project management, and technology evaluation.
• Skilled with network troubleshooting and management tools like Sniffer and packet capture software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft productivity tools and server administration.
