About the position

This position involves performing basic preparatory and support functions in a mining engineering department, with a primary focus on void planning aspects of mine planning. The role requires the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures to support various projects and activities within the mining operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate drilling campaigns to map out and analyze underground workings within the property.
  • Coordinate resources within the mine plan and operations.
  • Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusting and correlating data as necessary.
  • Recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities.
  • Devise new approaches to problems encountered in the mining operations.
  • Review data and prepare recommendations for key stakeholders such as Operations or senior engineers or managers.
  • Assist senior engineers as directed while developing specialized engineering skills.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of engineering techniques and procedures related to mining operations.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating drilling campaigns.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data related to underground workings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to devise new approaches to challenges.
  • Effective communication skills to prepare recommendations for stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mining engineering or related field.
