About the position

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to fill the Senior VOIP System Administrator position at our NSWC Corona Division in Norco, CA. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) systems, ensuring seamless communication capabilities for our users. Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of VOIP infrastructure, which is essential for maintaining high-quality, reliable, and secure voice communication systems within the organization. As a Senior VOIP System Administrator, you will configure and troubleshoot VOIP systems, including call managers and gateways, to resolve technical issues and enhance system functionality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VOIP solutions with existing systems and applications, ensuring that communication across the organization is seamless. Additionally, you will implement robust security measures to safeguard VOIP systems, conducting regular audits and assessments to identify and address potential vulnerabilities. Your role will also involve leading the planning and execution of VOIP system upgrades, patches, and migrations, while staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies. You will provide expert-level support for VOIP-related incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and disruptions. Furthermore, you will develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to ensure a thorough knowledge base for the team. Monitoring VOIP system performance will be a key responsibility, as you will conduct regular assessments and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency and meet organizational requirements. You will also collaborate with vendors to evaluate and implement new VOIP technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and future scalability. As a mentor, you will train junior team members, sharing your expertise and best practices to build a knowledgeable and skilled VOIP system administration team. Participation in an on-call rotation will be required, where you will respond promptly to critical issues, providing effective solutions to minimize impact on business operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3-5 years broad expertise in system administration.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree).
  • IAT Level II certification/DoD 8570 certifications: CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, HCISPP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced VOIP technologies and systems.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and security best practices.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions for end-users on VOIP systems.
