About the position
The Volleyball Coach for Summer 2025 at IMG Academy is responsible for training and coaching student-athletes in volleyball. This role involves developing training programs, assessing athlete performance, and providing psychological support to enhance their skills and motivation. The coach will also assist in game day operations and collaborate with parents to support the overall development of the athletes.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and implements a volleyball training program for all Student Athletes.
- Assesses the performance and skill development of each Student Athlete and partners with the appropriate department for their continued development.
- Helps with the psychological preparation of the Student Athlete.
- Develops a motivational approach to practice and games.
- Assists in Game Day operations.
- Works to develop comprehensive knowledge of sport in decision-making, handling authority and setting and meeting objectives.
- Assists with pick up and distribution of uniforms pre and post-game.
- Interacts with the Student Athlete as an educator of the sport and mentor.
- Partners with the Student Athlete's parent/guardian regarding their overall development.
- Skilled and proficient in all training techniques.
- Effectively communicates to Student Athletes.
- Assures proper safety is maintained, adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned to include pre-practice and pre-game preparation.
Requirements
- Experience coaching and/or playing volleyball.
- Skills in training and instructing.
- Strong commitment to Student Athletes.
- Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
