About the position

The Volunteer and Community Engagement Manager at Path Home is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the volunteer program, enhancing its infrastructure to support the organization's mission of empowering families experiencing homelessness. This role involves cultivating a robust volunteer program, managing volunteer recruitment, training, and retention, and fostering meaningful community connections. The Manager will collaborate with various teams to ensure alignment across programs and community partnerships, ultimately contributing to the success of Path Home's initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and improve Path Home's Volunteer Program, ensuring ideal staffing levels with trained and equipped volunteers.
  • Manage all aspects of volunteer engagement, including recruitment, onboarding, training, retention, and recognition.
  • Create, maintain, and manage digital content, scheduling platforms, and other volunteer materials.
  • Organize regular volunteer retention events, including appreciation parties, socials, and continuing education workshops.
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules to meet programming needs, providing oversight during shifts and sometimes working alongside volunteers.
  • Develop annual volunteer budget and produce comprehensive monthly and annual reports on volunteer engagement and program impact.
  • Build and nurture relationships with corporate partners by facilitating meaningful volunteer opportunities tailored to organizational needs and partner interests.
  • Lead volunteer staffing and logistics for Path Home events, including Holiday Village and quarterly shelter events.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of volunteer coordination or similar experience in relationship management.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Familiarity with computers and basic software, including Volgistics, Google Drive, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Experience working with individuals or families experiencing homelessness and knowledge of local social services is a plus.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in community engagement or corporate partnership development.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.
