About the position

The Volunteer Coordinator is a part-time role focused on managing and enhancing the volunteer program at Beta Community Partnerships, Inc. This position involves recruiting, training, and placing volunteers, as well as maintaining records and developing recognition programs. The coordinator will work closely with local organizations to promote volunteer opportunities and ensure effective communication with staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting: Interviewing and hiring new volunteers and arranging for screening with the volunteer and Beta's business office.
  • Training: Developing and implementing training programs for volunteers.
  • Placing Volunteers: Matching volunteers to roles based on their qualifications, experience, and interests.
  • Managing Schedules: Keeping track of volunteer schedules.
  • Maintaining Records: Keeping accurate records on volunteer information.
  • Developing Recognition Programs: Creating a program to recognize volunteers.
  • Promoting Opportunities: Promoting opportunities for volunteers to increase their hours (a minimum of 4 hours per month).
  • Keeping Leaders Informed: Informing leaders of administrative and schedule changes, as well as training requirements.
  • Developing Partnerships: Working with local, civic, and social organizations to develop partnerships.
  • Reporting on Activities: Reporting to staff on volunteer activities available in the community.
  • Local Community Events: Organizing opportunities for Beta individuals to volunteer in the community, such as at animal shelters and libraries.
  • Partnerships: Working with the scheduling department to facilitate outings if additional staff are needed.
  • Scheduling: Setting a calendar of events and reminding volunteers/staff of upcoming outings.
  • Other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in medical terminology (1 year preferred).
  • Computer skills (1 year preferred).
  • MAP License (Required).
  • Ability to relocate to Taunton, MA 02780 before starting work (Required).
